Israeli startup 42AI has come out of stealth with $62.5 million in seed funding and a bold claim: its 'behavioral world model' can predict what a person will do before they decide, even in a situation they have never faced before. The company says the system is already running at a small number of financial brokerages, where it is used to anticipate how individual traders react to volatile markets.
The funding was raised over three years from the founders and Infinity Group, according to TechCrunch. 42AI is led by CEO and co-founder Amit Gal-Or and CTO and co-founder Ehud Ezra, who argue that human behavior is not fixed but follows measurable tendencies.
What the 42AI world model actually does
Unlike systems that extrapolate from past actions, 42AI says its model tries to infer a person's internal motivations. To do that, it studies how people respond to seemingly unrelated events, such as completing KYC checks, onboarding, support calls, money transfers or stock trades.
Ezra told TechCrunch the model looks at sentiment, voice and the number of times a person calls support, then feeds those signals into a transformer-based world model that produces probabilities for possible decisions. A separate language model generates explanations for the predictions, the company says.
