ASML reported third-quarter net sales of €11.66 billion, just below analyst estimates of €11.72 billion, but delivered a net profit of €4.96 billion against expectations of €4.1 billion, according to CNBC. The Dutch company also raised its 2026 net sales forecast from €43–44 billion to €44–45 billion, narrowing the range toward the upper end.
The bigger signal came from CEO Christophe Fouquet, who said customers are increasing their short- and medium-term equipment demand forecasts and that some are now expressing interest in placing orders for 2029 and even 2030. ASML is the world's only maker of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines, the tools TSMC and others rely on to produce the most advanced semiconductors, which makes its outlook a key gauge of AI chip demand.
ASML Q3 earnings and 2026 forecast
For the fourth quarter, ASML guided net sales of €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion, with the upper end ahead of LSEG consensus estimates of €14.2 billion. The company also said it expects China to account for 20% of its total business, sticking to a prior forecast.
ASML has been restricted from selling EUV and some DUV tools to China for several years, even as Chinese firms push to build out a domestic semiconductor supply chain. A July report from The Information suggested an unnamed Chinese company had begun manufacturing an immersion deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machine, though analysts have questioned how quickly China can scale that technology.
