DoorDash announced on Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Instacart for approximately $17 billion, a deal that would bring two major players in on-demand delivery under one roof. DoorDash will pay $65.00 per Instacart share, a 26% premium over Instacart's closing price on October 22, 2026.
The agreement was unanimously approved by Instacart's board and has also been approved by DoorDash's board, according to both companies. The transaction is expected to close toward the end of 2027 or in the first half of 2028, and the two brands will continue to operate as separate, independent companies until then.
DoorDash and Instacart deal terms
