Google has officially teased the Fitbit Edge, its next fitness tracker, and confirmed a launch date of October 12. The company posted an image on X and Instagram showing what appears to be the side of the wearable, with the caption: "Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26."
The tease follows weeks of leaks about the device. Reports from Dealabs and Android Headlines have already described its screen, sensors, battery life and possible price, so much of the Fitbit Edge may have been revealed before Google's official event.
Fitbit Edge specs: what leaks say
According to Dealabs and Android Headlines, the Fitbit Edge could feature a 1.34-inch always-on OLED touchscreen and built-in GPS. It is also reported to include an accelerometer, barometer, altimeter and gyroscope.
The rumored sensor set goes further: optical sensors for heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), plus electrical sensors for ECGs. Dealabs reports the tracker may also warn wearers about potential atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms.
Battery life is said to reach up to seven days with the always-on display disabled, or around two days with it on, using a replaceable lithium-ion battery. Other leaks mention Gemini integration, iPhone support and a metal chassis that continues the "Canyon" color scheme from the Pixel Watch 5.
