Google is reportedly preparing to launch the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker that has now leaked in full ahead of an expected unveiling later this month. According to reports from Android Authority and GSMArena, the device will sit between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5 in Google's wearable lineup, and it will succeed the Fitbit Charge.
The leak follows an accidental reveal back in August, when Google Australia published official promo images of an unannounced Fitbit device during the Pixel 11 series launch. The new reports now fill in the design, features and pricing of the product, which is said to be called the Fitbit Edge.
Fitbit Edge specs and features
Leaked images show a fitness tracker with an oval touchscreen, a button on the right side and a sensor array on the rear. That sensor setup is said to look slightly more advanced than the one on the Fitbit Air. The band appears to use a pinch system for swapping straps.
The Fitbit Edge is reported to offer GPS, automatic activity recognition and elevation tracking. It will also show notifications, though its display will be less capable than the Pixel Watch's. Limited app support is expected for apps such as YouTube Music and Google Maps, and a promotional image indicates the tracker will work with both Android and iOS.
Google has not officially confirmed any of these details, so treat them as leaks rather than announced facts.
