Anthropic announced on Tuesday that it is expanding Claude Startups, its program for founders and fast-growing companies, with up to $45,000 in discounts and credits. The company says thousands of businesses already take part since the program first launched in May.
The move is Anthropic's latest effort to tie the next generation of companies to Claude rather than to rivals. It comes as the AI lab competes directly with OpenAI and Google, which both run their own startup programs, and as Anthropic prepares for what is widely expected to be a blockbuster IPO.
What Claude Startups members get
Most of the value sits in the Claude Startup Stack, which Anthropic describes as a set of benefits for the tools a startup runs on. That stack is worth up to $45,000 in discounts and credits.
On top of that, eligible organizations get a one-time $1,000 API credit for building with Claude, plus a free year of Claude Team with up to five premium seats. Anthropic also confirmed TechCrunch's report that members can access Claude Marketplace, where companies build plug-ins for the service.
