Claude Duet: Anthropic's Proactive AI Agent Takes On Muse and Dots

Anthropic says Duet incorporates a new classifier and system prompt designed to prevent it from leaking sensitive information. The agent will never directly see your passwords or sign-in tokens, and information related to health or personal finances is only shared if you explicitly tell Duet to do so. The company said it would share more details about Duet's safety protections in the coming days.

On pricing, Duet is included for subscribers of Anthropic's $20 per month Pro plan once it reaches general availability. That sets it apart from OpenAI Dots, which are currently only available to OpenAI's Pro tier subscribers starting at $100 per month. However, Duet shares usage with all your other Claude tools, including Code, which could cause users to hit rate limits sooner than with chat alone. Anthropic says Duet checks connected accounts every few hours to avoid burning through plan limits too quickly.

9to5Mac notes that Claude Duet isn't available on Team or Enterprise plans yet, though Anthropic plans to expand availability to those subscriptions in the future. Engadget points out that Anthropic is late to the proactive agent party, but Duet's inclusion in the $20 Pro plan could make it more accessible than Dots.

For now, Claude Duet is only available to US subscribers via a waitlist, and there's no announced timeline for availability in Tunisia or the wider Maghreb region. If you're an Anthropic subscriber in Tunisia, you won't be able to join the waitlist yet.

The bigger question is trust. Context is everything to AI models, and for some users, sharing their entire digital life with an AI agent may be too much to ask. If you're comfortable with that trade-off, Duet promises to handle scheduling, forecasts, and even web app building while you focus on other work. If not, you may want to wait and see how Anthropic's safety protections evolve before handing over the keys to your digital life.
