The Enough Phone, a compact Android handset built around a 5.3-inch display, opened preorders on Kickstarter today, betting that the long-running demand for small phones is real and not just talk in comment sections. The screen is reportedly the smallest the team could find with decent performance metrics, and it makes the device smaller than almost every phone currently on sale.
The project comes from Austin Boer, Brennan Jordan and William Stults. Boer and Jordan run Sleke, which sells refurbished Google Pixel phones loaded with its restricted OdysseyOS, while Stults co-runs Dumbwireless, a store and platform for dumb phones. According to Wired, the three have no direct experience in the phone industry, though some Sleke engineers do. Shipping is currently slated for May 2027.
Enough Phone specs and design
The Enough Phone is not chasing flagships. It uses a mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 7500 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a single 50-megapixel Sony camera on the back, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, NFC and 5G. The body is polycarbonate and comes only in black.
The most distinctive choice is the battery. Four Torx screws on the back let you open the phone and replace the cell yourself, similar to a Fairphone and in line with upcoming European Union rules. That pushes thickness to 12mm to fit a roughly 3,500 to 4,000mAh battery, a capacity the company is still finalizing.
