Apple is expected to ship between 1.2 million and 1.5 million units of its new OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro in 2027, according to a new TrendForce report published after Apple made the machine official this week. The MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display is Apple's first touchscreen Mac, announced alongside the M6 MacBook Pro, M6 iMac and a redesigned OLED iPad mini.
The forecast matters because Apple is arriving late to a market that Windows brands built. TrendForce says OLED notebooks have so far been driven by Lenovo, HP and ASUS, and that Apple's entry should push rivals to prioritize OLED models in their roadmaps while making buyers more comfortable with the technology.
OLED notebook forecast and MacBook Pro pricing
TrendForce projects that global OLED notebook shipments will grow nearly 40% year over year in 2026, followed by another increase of more than 40% in 2027. The firm expects the market to reach 46.6 million units by 2030, though growth will slow to 30.8% that year after peaking at 42.8% in 2028.
Apple's pricing may hold back early upgrades. TrendForce notes that the new MacBook Pro's premium starting price of US$2,899 for the 14-inch model, roughly 8,400 TND, combined with initial availability alongside the existing Mini-LED models, could temper near-term replacement demand.
