Samsung's next big audio product may finally have a name. According to a new leak, the company's upcoming over-ear headphones will be called "Galaxy Studio," 9to5Google reports, citing Android developer and occasional leaker @evowizz on Twitter/X. The same source previously confirmed the Galaxy Buds On name for Samsung's open-ear earbuds.
The Galaxy Studio name would mark Samsung's return to over-ear headphones after more than a decade away from the category, Android Authority notes. An earlier leak this year revealed the company was working on such a product to sit alongside its Galaxy Buds lineup, but offered only a rough idea of the design. No specs, price, release window or confirmed design details have surfaced yet.
Samsung Galaxy Studio: what the leak says
The tip comes from @evowizz, who has a track record on Samsung audio naming after the Galaxy Buds On leak. That is the only firm detail in the report. Everything else about the Galaxy Studio — driver size, battery life, noise cancellation, materials, colors — remains unknown.
Both outlets stress that this is a rumor, not an official announcement. Samsung itself has not commented on the Galaxy Studio name, and no regulatory filings or store listings have appeared to back it up. Readers should treat the name as unconfirmed until Samsung says otherwise.
Why a Samsung over-ear headphone matters
Samsung has spent years building out the Galaxy Buds family, from the standard Buds to the open-ear Buds On. An over-ear model would open a new front against Apple's AirPods Max and Sony's WH-1000XM series, two of the best-known premium headphones on the market.
A Galaxy Studio pair would also fit Samsung's wider ecosystem play, pairing with Galaxy phones, tablets and watches under the same Galaxy branding. The timing of the leak suggests a launch could be closer than expected, though 9to5Google notes that every key detail is still unclear. There is no word on pricing or a release date.
