Samsung is preparing one more foldable for 2026, and it is not a global launch. According to leaks reported by 9to5Google and GSMArena, the Galaxy W27 will be unveiled on October 29 as a China-exclusive model sold through China Telecom, continuing Samsung's yearly tradition of premium W-series foldables. Tipster Ice Universe shared a photo of the device's back, showing a glossy dark blue finish with gold accents on the frame and around the pill-shaped triple-camera island.
The Galaxy W27 is not a new phone from the ground up. Multiple reports say its specs are identical to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, meaning the W series is once again a rebranded version of Samsung's top foldable of the year — this time the Ultra rather than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Samsung Galaxy W27 specs and design
If the leaks hold, the Galaxy W27 carries the same hardware as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra that Samsung already sells globally, and that GSMArena says it tested in its review. That means buyers in China would get the same folding screen, chip and camera system in a more luxurious package.
The W series has always stood out for its finishes. Last year's W26, based on the Galaxy Z Fold7, came in red and black with gold trim and was the first in the line to add satellite calling and messaging through China's Tiantong system. The W27 sticks with the gold-seal logo near the bottom of the back panel, as seen in the leaked image.
